Not a coin, but a medal which was given to General Zaragoza by the City of Montevideo for his defeat of the French at Puebla on May 5, 1862. The very rare medal is made of lead. Grove-unlisted. A handful of these are known, one being the specimen from the Don Bailey Collection of the Maximilian Era auctioned in 1975 and another being mine, ex-Heritage and a bit beat up, shown here. 56.5mm, 99.3g.
