Resolved, they do: PCGS no longer recognizes 1921 VAM 1H Peace?
I had two coins in for the reholder special with variety attribution added for VAM 1H. When I got notification that they were completed I saw there was no attribution on the cert page so I called before the coins were shipped for them to verify. Well I just got them back today but no variety attribution(Order still says HOLD on it). I called CS and was told to check the list of varieties and to my surprise the VAM 1H is not on the list, yet it is in the Elite 30 VAM registry set, has a coin number and is in the price guide.

So what the hell?
I know they used to attribute these, I have one in a PCGS slab with the attribution.
I spent an extra $18 to find out that these somehow don't exist anymore. ? It looks like VAM 1F is in the same boat.
Before people jump in and say I got the variety wrong, here are the cert pages with trueviews of my coins.

EDIT 7/14/21: PCGS has attributed the two coins in question

In fact, searching "ELITE 30" in the VAM list shows that only 28 are listed, the 1921 VAM 1H and 1F are both omitted.

@ChrisH821
as good as pcgs is, this is an area that has always been sorely lacking.
the list of us that have paid for attributions only to find they have no information about not doing them goes down the street and around the block several times.
they have the attribution page with a list but is simply not enough. least they could do is refund if they've stopped attributing something w/o any public statement/list.

I guess at least I was only charged half since they aren't valid varieties according to the list, it would have been $18 each had they been attributed... which I would rather have had to pay.
Still, I find it very irritating that they are missing two of the Elite 30 Peace VAMS in their master list which seems to be the root of this particular issue. I am not sure who to talk to about that.

perhaps check with the vamworld people. if anyone would know a bit more, gotta be them.

Maybe @messydesk could shed some light.
Wierd! Keep us updated on any info. The Vam1h is one of my favorite varieties. They use to label them "MS of satin proof dies". The changed it to "polish lines".
It still shows the 1h on coinfacts.
It's one of my favorites as well, in fact I have four of them. They stick out like a sore thumb when you know what to look for.
I sent an email to the set registry customer service email address, we'll see what happens from here.

It's probably an oversight on it's removal/non-inclusion...unless it was removed from the reference material the variety was debunked from what it was identified through; CPG, Morgan and Peace Dollars (1878-1935) by VAM numbers (Includes TOP 100, HOT 50, and Hit List 40; see VAM Variety list), The Red Book, etc...I have been wrong before.

Looks like the follow up did the trick. Set registry forwarded to CS, CS wants me to send them back.

meaning, they do still attribute them?
<--- look what's behind the mask! - cool link 1/NO ~ 2/NNP ~ 3/NNC ~ 4/CF ~ 5/PG ~ 6/Cert ~ 7/NGC 7a/NGC pop~ 8/NGCF ~ 9/HA archives ~ 10/PM ~ 11/NM ~ 12/ANACS cert ~ 13/ANACS pop - report fakes 1/ACEF ~ report fakes/thefts 1/NCIS - Numi-Classes SS ~ Bass ~ Transcribed Docs NNP - clashed coins - error training - V V mm styles -
That wasn't 100% clear, but I don't think they would have asked me to send them back if it was a VAM that they no longer attribute. I did point out the fact that this VAM is listed in the PCGS price guide and that it is in the set composition for the Elite30 VAM Peace Dollar registry set. It wouldn't make sense for them to stop attributing them if they are still required for sets, granted, there are only a handful of users who build those sets. I printed off the material to include with the return in case we run into the same confusion.
If they no longer attribute these that's fine, but they should be removed from registry set compositions before that happens. It would also be very helpful if they added a note on the Coinfacts page stating that they are no longer attributed, if that was the case.

This is news to me. These two varieties have not been delisted from the VAM catalog. I believe this will be an "oops, my bad" on the part of PCGS, especially given the request to send them back.

alrighty and thanks. will look forward to the next update where your coin is attributed and there is a big smile on your face.
