Have you ever assembled or seen a complete set of counter stamped Peace Dollars?

I have not but, I think it would be a very unique collection. Every coin with a different counter stamp, more than likely they would all be low grade coins but grade doesn't matter.

Wow, I think that would be the crown jewel of the set. That's a Walther Firearms counter stamp - Nice

I recognized that counterstamp immediately.... ;) Now there is a project... I can look for counterstamps from firearms manufacturers.... Got to be few and far between... I need a Colt, Springfield, Smith and Wesson, Marlin and Ruger to start.... :D Cheers, RickO

I don't think such a contemporary set is likely to exist for the reason cited above. Maybe with labels, but even those tended to be affixed decades after the actual release.

Yea, I cant imagine a whole lot of Peace Dollars were counterstamped. Let alone a whole date/mm set.
    Nice Walther @JBK

I am confident that a counterstamped date & mm set of Peace dollars is possible consisting of logotype (not individual letter) c/s of the pre-WWII period. The c/s may not be especially meaningful (as those above) but there was still quite a bit of whacking going on during the '20s and '30s both as die trials and just messing around in the machine shop.

Here’s a Colt counter stamp that I (alas) used to own:

Now how did you let that go, @EXOJUNKIE ? Great counterstamp!

    Yes

Isn't this an XF 45 coin somewhat 'post mint damaged'? :)

I traded it for something I wanted more, so it was a win-win, although I do miss it. :/

I think I've seen that Colt Morgan on Ebay...

The 1921 Colt and 1922 Walther counter marks would be an incredible start to the set.
