There is a small hoard of them near me, but I haven’t been able to get the owner to budge. 🤨

Okay, I'll try a different tactic. I am offering the following for a Gen 1 NGC Black Slab in good condition (no cracks/chips):
    $4k for an 1881-S Morgan $1 in MS63
    $4.5k for an 1881-S Morgan $1 in MS64+
$3.5k for any Morgan $1 (more for a better coin)

Please PM with any offers. Thanks, Chris.

If you don't have something nice to say: Shut the. +>/@&÷> up!

it's interesting that you would preface your very rude outburst with "If you don't have something nice to say" which is comical.

to the remark, I see nothing wrong with a well-established member essentially cautioning against a new member and a four-figure coin deal. as a new member with a low post count and probably unknown to most of us, I will forgive your ignorance on the topic. suffice as to say, if you've been here for awhile you'd be aware of the scammers and lowlifes who show up and attempt this sort of thing. that's not to say that USARarities is one of them, it just explains why some of us will caution others.

now, please find some expletive to hurl my way. B)

I might suggest bumping up your offer which is a reasonable one but the owners of these black slab are not motivated to sell.

I've also had a very satisfactory transaction with USARarities. :+1:

I have no idea what your PM's were like, but O is literally the only source of these widgets. Finding one in the wild is about as unlikely as find finding a bottle of astatine.

Not so. There are 2 NY collectors with double digit quantities of these that are tightly held. I’m acquainted with both of them on a business level, not that it does me any good. 😖

    What is astatine?
