Legislation hasn’t passed the Senate. If Not passed in 2020, you have to start over in 2021...
Proof, silver prof & mint set to keep my Dansco albums complete. Probably the ASE for the Dansco too. Little disappointed though as I did not get the 75th edition and I will not pay $ 500.00 for a raw example just to keep the album at 100 %. I may very well stop collecting the ASE's.
Prices have dropped a lot already. Can buy one on Ebay for less than $400. Probably will drop a bit more

I gave up on the ASE's long ago
there are just to many varieties each year to keep a set updated especially a registry set.
If I counted correctly, there will be 6 different ASE's for 2021

My guess is it will be 3. One for the entire run, one for classic design, and one for new design. If so, many people can experience having a top registry set with new design next year....

was really hoping they'd choose the 'apple' reverse - much better design, imo
I tried very hard to drum up enough interest in Congress for a commemorative dollar for the 100th anniversary of the Tomb of the Unknown but I was not successful. A real shame.
@Dreamcrusher what does that process look like? did you start with your state reps? having conversations with them and trying get them to 'sponsor' the legislation? would love to understand methods / process for that --- sorry you didn't get congressional support for your efforts

I'm one for two because the World War I commemorative was my idea and it took 5 years of work before a bill was presented to President Obama to sign into law.
A bill has to pass both the House and the Senate so you need to get someone interested from each branch. I got my local representative interested and then I contacted every senator. Just as in a school where the real power rests with the secretaries, the real power in government rests with the aides. If you can get them to commit, you have a chance. Because I have a background in numismatics, congress asked me to help write the technical side of the legislation. The bill reaches the Finance Committee and if it is approved there, it will come up for a vote.
Far and away, the most difficult part is finding where to park the money from the sale of the coin. There must be an existing organization that has ties to the subject of the coin. That organization must agree to a thorough accounting of their finances and be willing to raise from private sources the matching amount of what they will receive from the sale of the coins. In my case, the government decided to organize a World War I Centennial Committee at the last moment and that saved me. The money raised from the sale of the coin is being used to help build a national monument in Washington D.C..
It takes a lot of work. I came up with the idea for a World War I commemorative dollar in 2010 and President Obama finally signed the idea into law in 2015. I contacted my local congressman and he agreed to sponsor a bill. I then contacted every senator to help sponsor a bill on the senate side. The first bill, never got out of the Finance Committee. Fortunately, my congressman was willing to try again, and it got out of committee the second time for a vote.

You would be surprised at the number of people I had to fight to get the coin made. There were those who believed that I was trying to glamourize war. Then there were people who were against it because they believed their tax money was being used (which is not true, the coin paid for itself).
My incentive was to honor the last surviving American from the war, Corporal Frank Buckles, who was alive at the age of 110 when I came up with the idea. He did not live long enough to see the coin minted but his daughter did.

They were moved After the Morgan and Peace Silver dollar law was passed. My guess is you will see a Morgan Silver Dollar followed by the Peace Silver dollar.
I would complete sales of Morgan and Peace before I sell one American Silver Eagle.
At least that is how I would do it if I was Mint Director...
@cagcrisp so confused - how are they going to push through the morgan and peace dollars so quickly? understand the legislation is passed, but wouldn't there be a whole design approval process ahead of getting the dies made and moving into production?
My guess is that they had all this already done in anticipation...

I think you guys are reading the law concerning the 2021 Morgan’s and Peace Silver dollars incorrectly. The Senate passed the bill December 17, 2020. That’s when the clock starts for the 10 days. The president has 10 days to Veto the bill or it becomes law.
When it was presented to the president ( December 24, 2020) has no bearing on the 10 day clock...
