In the 1996 sale of the Louis Eliasberg Sr. collection, the following three lots were included in the Nickel section.

772 - 1883 Without CENTS Liberty nickel roll, average MS-63. Brilliant and lustrous. Excellent quality. These and the following 1883 Liberty Head nickels were put away decades ago – possibly even in the 19th century. Now they will certainly please the buyer and, eventually, many owners as they are dispersed. (Total: 40 pieces)

773 - Another 1883 Without CENTS Liberty nickel roll, average MS-63. Brilliant and lustrous. Excellent quality. (Total: 40 pieces)

774 - Final group (of 19 pieces) of 1883 Without CENTS Liberty nickel roll, average MS-63. Brilliant and lustrous. Excellent quality. (Total: 19 pieces)

Below is a breakdown of prices, both those realized in the auction and the average per coin cost.

772 - $3,080.00 - $77.00
773 - $2,970.00 - $74.25
774 - $1,650.00 - $86.84

It would seem that these 99 coins were all submitted to PCGS. I base this off of the coins I either own or have seen images of. Since grading submissions have the serial numbers sequentially ordered, I looked up the coins with serial numbers around those I know, and I found 3 distinct groups where all graded coins are 1883 No Cent nickels.

4467933 - 4467969 (currently 18 of these exist)
4561209 - 4561266 (currently 53 of these exist)
4687004 - 4687024 (currently 16 of these exist)

I have seen a few examples with the ELIASBERG providence on the holder in newer blue holders that do not fall in these groups, so I suspect these were sent in to be re-graded.

Anyone have one of these they would like to share? Here are the 5 I own, images by Messydesk.
