1997 Upper Deck

One of the landmark sets in Hobby history, these three cards were randomly inserted into Series One packs.
(GJ1Ken Griffey, Jr.)
( GJ2 Tony Gwynn)
(GJ3 Rey Ordonez )
Each card features a swatch of a game-worn jersey, cut up, and placed on the card. These cards were the first of their kind to hit the baseball card market and have become a staple in baseball card products since.

This set is done in the style of the landmark 1997 Upper Deck Game Jersey set. The checklist features players who were all active in 1997, and each card is limited, but not serial-numbered, to 150 copies.

Here’s a kind of interesting one from ‘16 Panini Pantheon. From the relic to the holograph type finish on the card (which I don’t believe to be present on anything but one parallel), I am almost positive this one is misstamped and should be the 1/1 holo silver Local Lore parallel of Donnie.

About a year ago I went just went through their customer service “contact us” or whatever on their site, but no response. I didn’t aggressively pursue it because I’m not keen on selling it.

2001 Fleer Legacy
Hot Gloves
Hot Gloves was supposed to feature actual swatches of game-used fielding gloves. Unfortunately, redemption cards had to be placed into packs for all fifteen cards, with each card expiring July 1st, 2002. Fleer was unable to procure any gloves, and the fulfilled cards instead featured a swatch of a game-used baseball. The reverse side of each card provides game-dating information on the balls used.

And used to own this one but had to sell to my Jeter collecting friend Nelson ( Be8elOve as he's known) in 2019 when my wife wound up in ICU for 9 days. I miss it that's for sure ( Jeter uni # ) and am checking with him to see if he still owns ( it was a dupe for him) as I'd like it back.

2001 SP Game Bat Edition

Each Piece of the Game Autograph card is also available in a Gold parallel, which is serial-numbered to 25 copies. Cards #S-FT, #S-KG, and #S-SS packed out as exchange cards which expired September 22, 2001.

2001 SP Game Bat Edition is a 90-card set released by Upper Deck in December, 2000. Each four-card pack contained one game-used bat card -- a novelty for the time.

The bases and baseballs from the Opening Day of the 2001 season were purchased by Donruss-Playoff and swatches of these items were the basis for the Home Opener Souvenirs sets. Some players had two different cards in this set.
