Hi All,
Can you help with an explanation on what this is? PMD? Weighs 4.17 grams looks good otherwise.
Thanks for taking a look....Verno

My first thought is weak D. @jwitten will be more helpful as I cannot say for sure.
Yea, forgot about that diagnostic...no sign of a D ...does it warrant a trip to our host?
Wait until someone with more expertise wades in.
Sure wish I could expand the pictures.
Could be genuine 1911-P with a bit of a wire rim, or "finning" as the Mints call it. Can't tell.
Maybe
Can’t tell from photo!
Appears that is the way the coin was made. Chance it is an 11-D is Zero. The color is "off" but the "seam" is a good indication that the coin is genuine.
Nice looking coin, and it has the wire rim, but I don't see any other signs of the weak D. Still a nice enough coin I would send her in, and might as well submit it as a weak D. All they can do is grade it as a nice 1911, lol.
Right click the photo, open in new tab, voila.
Looks authentic... do not believe it is a weak D....Cheers, RickO
