my son and i visited 7 coin stores last week as sort of an end of summer thing to do. we had a great time. we came up with is this 39-D walker. we think maybe it's worth submitting for reconsideration...what do you think? (those purple dots are from the camera)

Very nice Walker.... Are the lines/haze perhaps on the slab? What does the reverse look like? Cheers, RickO

no, there is no haze on the coin. the 'marks' you see are probably toning (above IGWT and near L I).

i take kinda lousy photos to be doing this...but...

    here are a couple more:

I don't see it upgrading more than maybe a +.

I don't see upgrade potential from the images.

No way that I could judge what to do from those photos. Looks like a coin that would need to be viewed in person to decide.

    What do you grade it?

I'm wondering if some of the lines in the right field could be die polish lines which are often seen on the 1939-D.

    Would try a cac submission.

As many dealers have told me even on nice coins like this, "just don't take it out of that holder".

I think it's 66+. It looks like lines but it's brown toning near igwt

The true view makes coin pop and looks flashy and PQ, while first pic makes it look dull and washed out.
I am assuming that the TV is more accurate.

Yes, the TV shows a distinct luster band in the obverse, right-facing field.
