As far as govt's relying on gambling $ to balance their budgets, some analysts that study these things have stated that when govt's rely on this approach, they have reached bottom in ideas.

That's exactly right. Governments can't gamble their way to prosperity. Perhaps there was a time when some could, such as Las Vegas and other examples, but those days are long gone.
The fact is that overall for every $1 the government takes in from gambling, they pay out around $2 to $3 in social costs. Gambling benefits special interests, but overall always hurts the taxpayer.
Government officials will boastfully proclaim how much gambling tax revenue is coming in, never mentioning how much government spending because of it is going out.
So the next time any non-gambler reads about gamblers losing a fortune, and thinks that it doesn't affect you...better think again. The gambling industry and their associated friends get rich, while gamblers and taxpayers get poor.
Already filthy rich MLB owners will get even filthy richer. Already rich players will get even richer. While the sports gambling addicts out there who think they are or can become sports handicapping geniuses, gamble away their family's money.
What else is new? Just the latest clever scheme for the elite in society to fleece the public.

I personally don't gamble, so I have no skin in the game.
This is what is coming. How it will be rolled out and over what timeframe is not known.
"Football" matches in other countries certainly already have this.
It's coming to your computer very soon.
Looks like SteveK was right, I was wrong I didn’t think gambling would ever come to a park
It hasn't yet.
<<< MLB currently prohibits sportsbooks, including betting kiosks or windows, inside a club's stadium. >>>
Now there's a MLB rule that will soon be gone with the wind. LOL
The only state I don't see it happening is the state of LDS Utah.
I believe they will never have a state lottery either.

The end of professional sports as we know it.
All that these folks have is the perception of integrity. The fact that a ref or ump can drop a wager at the venue is the final gasp.
