Just back from grading
Picked this up from Jeff Shevlin it’s not listed on the so called dollar guide. it’s one I’ve never seen and similar to the 1959 HK-573. I have no information on who minted or why. It’s got 1776-1976 where the original has 1859-1959
If you have any info please post it would love to find out more.

Nice, but not sure of the exact replica part......
@jabba
Just noticed, after all this time, that it’s has 20g. Is that the AGW? Been assuming they’re a toz.
The original was 10 D (penny weight of 24 grains each, or 240 grains) plus 20 G (grains) for a gross weight of 260 grains. For comparison, a Federal $10 weighed 258 grains.
That means I have my G, g, gr., g#, Gb all mixed up. Those musically out-of-tune grainy grams in my cereal.
Looks like a mule, if medals exist using the reverse die.
A lot of beavers here on the forum lately.... Not long ago (maybe two years), as I was sitting by the window and reading this forum, I looked out and a REAL beaver was walking down the street in front of my house. I quickly ran to the door and went outside... and yes, it was real and continued down the street as if it had a purpose. Now, there are no streams close by, so no idea where it came from - or where it was going. Have not seen another... Yeah....a tad off topic, but it was a beaver Cheers, RickO
A real beaver? Dam!
I should add, I do not live out in the country... I am in the village....So that made it even more amazing...Cheers, RickO
Nice but, I'm thinking it might also be a fantasy mule piece. Perhaps for the 1976 bicentennial.
I hope you really have found something new though

It’s definitely different but if it’s new find or a strange mule of some sort it will be a nice addition to the beaver den

What is the talk about a mule? These two designs on the 1976 piece were obviously intended to be used together.
It's just a different medal type, using a similar design, that hasn't been widely documented.
A cool find for the ever growing collection!
We are calling it a mule right now because the original was made in 1959 for the Oregon centennial and the other 1976 American bicentennial so they used the original design for the second coin so you get mule since we have no info yet on who made them we have no idea if there’ any connection between the two

The obverse and reverse dies are both different so it’s more that the 1976 piece used an existing design than an existing die.
Great find and pickup @jabba! This is adding to great collection.
I talk to the folks across the street and they are very interested in slabbing for me.

Neither die is the same as the 1959 issue, so not a mule. New issue re-using an older design.
That’s great! Would be great to get a PhotoVision image if you do. It would also be great to request a pedigree on the insert for your collection. I wonder if they will assign it a HK number?
Another question is whether our hosts will slab it and give it a HK number
Very nice, hoping it brings the Blazers luck!
