NEWPs - tough to find toned 1928 buff, plus a V nickel

I bought both of these raw and they recently graded. The trueviews turned out great too!

PCGS called them both MS63s, though I didn't care about the grade so much on the buff, just that it straight graded. I thought they were a little tough on the buff.

I haven't seen a V nickel with the streaky toning like this, I thought it was pretty cool.

Anyway, here they are.

The central obverse on your 1928 Buff is weak. I've seen the same problem on 1934-D, but to a greater extent. There seems no reason why your coin could not sneak a 64, but not any higher.

It has a pinpoint strike around the rim, including a fully rendered top feather. The slight weakness on Black Diamonds shoulder may be why it was held back.

Just my guess.........hope this helps.

Where do you people find all these tarnished Buffs?? Not that I am looking for them, just that all the one's I have are not tarnished... Good thing I am not selling them Though I can see the '28 as a 63, if it was a GTG I would have said 64. Cheers, RickO
