Re: Why was an Indian on the cent while we were somewhat at war with them?
I believe that after the Trail of Tears and the Black Hawk Wars there was lull in the genocide while we filled in the lands already taken. Then after the Civil War the westward expansion started up big time, and since there was no more worthless land to push the Native Americans onto the genocide resumed.
Re: Modern Cracked from PSA and Subbed to SGC- Results

watch some videos on youtube showing results of people cracking out of PSA and sending to SGC -- it is painfully obvious SGC is really soft when it comes to modern...clear corner touches, not so great centering, etc of many cards in SGC 9.5 folders...I couldn't believe some of the SGC grades I saw with one of the 20-card subs one guy posted (PSA crack outs sent to SGC)
Wrong, what's been painfully obvious is PSA decided to change it's grading process 2 years ago.
Re: Post a coin that turned out to be "smart money"...
Well, you never really know until you actually sell them..
I’m now about 90% complete with the dispersal and sale of my collection. When we get closer to 100%, I’ll post my thoughts on what did well and which ones were turkeys. There are some conclusions that are pretty clear.

I'll bet one of his descendants would love to have that piece.
They're most likely the ones that sold it first.
Re: Where is your value threshold for certification?
There’s something off with that peace dollar.
Re: IMPORTANT Tip for Collectors!
Hi Steve, I don’t want to derail your helpful post, but I’d like to note that I’ve had occasion to remove a few CAC stickers in the past.
Knowing that they are “tamper resistant”, I of course took it as a challenge. With a razor blade dipped in a bit of solvent and 10 minutes or so, I had it off totally intact. Then I flicked it into the can.
So it is very possible, and your PSA is a good one. I’m glad you did not get burned.
Re: Proof $20 Triple Delight
Magnificent coins.
It is hard to imagine that these three Proof coins spent between approximately 80 to 115 years (or more depending on when they were first graded by a TPG) raw. To survive that long in such pristine condition boggles my mind.
It is true that the Forums are one of life's "simple pleasures", as it is a place where hobbyists of all kinds can read, see and learn so much about the hobby. Without the Forums I would rarely, if ever, be able to see coins such as the three posted in this thread.
Thanks FFL for sharing these coins with fellow forumites.

Will you continue to collect coins or just be a dealer ?
No matter what I do to make a living, I'm always going to be a collector. Some coins I will likely never let go of, but many of my purchases end up being "catch and release" anyway. This would just speed up the process, I get the most pleasure from the "hunt" anyways.
Re: IMPORTANT Tip for Collectors!
Why not have CAC-A, CAC-B, and CAC-C stickers for that matter? lol
I have and will always continue to look at the coin first, not the holder or sticker.
