    That is a neat counterstamp. Reference found with Bowman in that time frame of a Photographer "W.E. Bowman" from Ottawa, Ill. Born in PA

    Have Rulau catalog ( U.S. Tokens 1700-1900) . There is JR Bowman, and JS Bowman, also mentioned. No findings here with J.M Bowman, though.
