My art medal exhibit at the ANA

I haven't posted on the forums for ages it seems like. I've been busy with the club's I'm associated with and can't seem to find the time, but, my dear friend, Charmy Harker, included these pictures of my "Sower" medal exhibit at the ANA World's Fair of Money in Chicago last week, in her fantastic show report, and I thought I'd share them on this forum. My collecting interest has changed over the past ten years. My collecting focus has narrowed to coins, medals, notes, etc., (and I mean etc.,) misc., items with the image of a sower, a person sowing seed. My exhibit is a small part of my medal collection as I was limited to 7 cases. It received a First Place ribbon at the WFM and since it was my first time exhibiting at the ANA I was very pleased about that. Thanks again to Charmy for the pictures.

It's easy to see how much thought and effort went into it and I have to congratulate you on the ribbon Mitch.
What a coincidence that just this morning I saw this piece being offered on the BST.
Thanks for sharing!

<< <i>Very nice display indeed! Always fun to see a specialist's collection since it makes me think about alternatives to my collecting approach. By chance do you have these on a website somewhere?
Thanks for sharing!

No I don't, but that is a great idea. I think it will be my winter project.

Thanks for the heads-up
Really hope you're able to, it would be a great contribution.
I also attend both numismatic and a few stamp shows with exhibits, many of which are national winners. Given the increasing tech capabilities and plummeting cost of storage, I'm surprised that sponsoring organizations haven't begun to place winners (or even all) exhibits on line in some manner. Once the exhibits are complete, it doesnt seem like it would take that much effort or cost to scan/image and upload the material so that all the work isn't lost. The last stamp show I attended had over 200 panes (each of which had 9 pages) of exhibits many of which could be outstanding references. It can be time consuming to take them all in and less likely yet to compare exhibited materials with references/one's own collection. Generally relatively few collectors attend such shows and few of those seem to bother looking at exhibits which is too bad for them. The pervasiveness of the I/N would make this stuff much more accessable/useful for both the novice and expert alike. I've talked about this with a local member of GPS (German Philatelic Society) and need to follow up next time I see him.
Just a thought.
