Chris, your British copper collection is really coming together nicely. I have been focusing on ancients, but every time I see your posts, I am back to the internet looking for some new British copper. I really like the earlier (1750's especially) because prices on those seem to go through the roof when you go from about a F to anything higher in my experience. Those cartwheels are really nice quality too but I think if I had to pick one it might be the 91. It is like the sleeper in the group even though it graded 64.

Sharp group of coins. I appreciate the pictures because I am still very conservative in my grading and look for full shield lines amongst other things to give copper ms grades. Maybe I am being too harsh on myself...and my copper.

thanks Nicholas, im still learning a lot with grading too. I think for the obverse its the hairline and the reverse is the shield breast and legs that show wear first on the penny and half penny's 1860-1901.

im sending out 22 more pieces tomorrow to our host for grading (11 half penny's, 6 penny's 2-2D, 3 strait settlement coins, 1 rupee and one Canada quarter).

ive almost completed my half penny set excepts a few stragglers (mainly the scarce ones).

yes. I notices the 1740-1775 ones are a lot now. Im glad I got that one above for just over 100$. I feel good about it after saw it graded AU58.

    chris

PatAr thanks. I love the 2D's as well. Im sending out two more tomorrow.

Hussulo, yes that 1891, was a real gem. I paid just under 100$ for it so I was very please with the results.

    Like that 1752 halfpenny.

So- with all the Cartwheel 2d you've submitted now, what's the highest grade example you've ended up with?

nope I pay the 25$ per coin.

for the 1797 I have AU55, AU50 XF45 and two pending I just sent off today. so have total of 5 2D's AU55 will probably be highest. I think these two pending are AU50-XF45

As for the 1752 Its became one of my favorite coins ive gotten very cheap.

2 months and still waiting for grades on a 3 coin order. One of the coins would be a 1st graded of its kind by PCGS which is why I think / hope it is taking this long for a secure / more expensive order.

im sorry to hear that maybe they had to do more research and conferring with it. all mine since march have taken less than a month. don't let it discourage you it might be worth the wait depending on your results.

You get your encamp back faster than my regular, still waiting. When I call they say each order is different, WTH does that mean.
Guess i'll never get an order done on time. I like and prefer PCGS but I have never got an order early, yet with NGC the opposite seems true. makes no sense, but .....

    BTW Nice coins & grades

I got my 11 Chinese and 1 brit coin back from NGC just at a month. what country coins did you send maybe its the the grader. they have different graders right. I sent almost all brit coins. just a guess. maybe they are swamped more with the usa coins or what you sent.

Really nice, and congrats on the fast turnaround.

I sent a batch to our hosts at the end of April. I'm still waiting for them to return. But there is promise ... I called two weeks ago, and was told that my coins had not been lost, and in fact, that they were in the process of being graded (still?) and then a few days ago I got an email saying two of them slabbed MS (NGC) were going to cross as SP and did I approve the crossover (and of course I said yes, because they are essai issues). Anyway maybe I'll see them before Labor Day weekend ...
