OCC - nice doubled dies

a fellow numismatist slid a stack of 10 of these over to me to keep after a few hours of good/informative conversation. long story short.

many different dies as well with various strength of spread.

i'll be compiling a list for as many foreign doubled/tripled etc dies (mainly 1800-now) and have a couple people to work with to get a heck of a start (with images) so if you know of any existing sources/lists etc and can point me in the right direction, i'd appreciate it.

without further ado:

changed images to links so that the images wont have to load for everyone visiting the thread.

the quick way to view these is to hold ctrl and left click the links if your settings have them open in a new tab and provided your device has
good processing + ram although the image size in kb is very small for the dimensions.

well, here is step 1 in its raw and pure form.

just thought i'd share what i have before the madness starts.

there will be images but i tend to do a lot at once so updates will come in randomly and far apart but in mass quantity.

i'll be snagging the info when and where i can. once a few months goes by and i visit some foreign coin dealers, it will be interesting to see what is already out there and whom is willing to share.

most images will be high quality, large in dimensions ie: 1000x1000 but small in size kb/mb. - check out the image size of the ones in the op.

the list has grown and been separated into about a dozen excel tabs by continent, country. still working on an efficient way to do that.

found the uruguay with both sides weakly and strongly doubled separately as well as together.

will post pics when i get a chance.

i'm probably gonna track over/under types just because it gives me a good excuse to make some cool overlays.

i'm going to post a brazillian monster i just found and after that i will be putting this project in the hands of the viewers.

after the brazil monster, i won't post another one until someone else does (and so on and so forth) and if others participate, the list should grow nicely but it will be up to you.

i'll probably post images tonight but tomorrow morning at the latest.

edited to add friday evening: long day on the road and a shorter day on th road tomorrow. so tomorrow evening is looking better. dog tired tonight from running all day. goosd/fun day though.

any feedback about the new layout?

looks cleaners/more efficient. also, obv/rev images have been combined and enlarged in dimensions but reduced in size (kb) for faster loading time.

if i hold control and left click all the links, i can open every image in a few seconds and this includes loading time.

the 2001 brazil 5 cent shows strong doubling on other parts of the coin even when it isn't found on BRASIL.

no worries. i post stuff online to be here at the convenience of others. it needs another big update. not as clean or as thorough as i like but we're getting there.

i've found cabral, tiradentes and pedro doubled w/o brasil or any other features, at least noticeably.

i should make an image comp showing just the ruler's name. fwiw

picking out ddos with only features like that is reserved for the most insane/ocd and/or the sharpest eyes.

i say sharpest eyes as i look through hundreds of pounds of mixed foreign buckets to find this crapola.
