The website linked is a blog of Frank Wang who has translated some of the articles of Huang Ruiyong. Huang Ruiyong is an MCC collector and is an expert and an authority on Modern Chinese Coins and Medals. He has done extensive research and written articles on MCC issues. His star ranking is to provide a list of the rare, cream of the crop MCC issues that have appreciated a lot since their issue. It serves as picks for anyone interested in MCC collection and investment.
For the 23 issues in my collection that are in Huang Ruiyong's star ranking list, the current values are multiple times over (I consider this a bonus) what I have acquired them for.
