I'm thinking Vg there is barely anything left of the bottom of the crown above the ear . I had a good link to a canadian grading page but it appears to be broken image

VG is what I would grade it. I found an undated one in circulation when I was a kid here in MI. They only coin with that obverse I ever found of any denomination from circulation. I kept it for a long time, it still may be stuck away somewhere.

added: undated, as in worn off.

You need to see the mustache to have a fine in my book , we are talking full Magnum PI , not just an outline

I wouldn't want to pay more than VG money for it.

This is a nice VG. No Magnum PI 'stash, more like a Greg Brady wanna a be.

I paid less than VG money for now and like the coin for what it is until maybe someday get a higher graded one.

ICCS standards as a 'Good'. (maybe a VG).

    US standards, a 'Fine'.

Unfortunately, yours is way off of a Fine.

    ICCS F15......

One more example of the great differences of grading circulated Canadian coinage.

    You'll notice quite a disparity.

Canadian Trends prices and Charleton's is for ICCS graded coins, NOT US TPG graded coins.

I think thats overgraded too. I'm not seeing the full Magnum PI , the stash trails off at the tips and its hard to see the sideburn hair just in front of the ear.

Can we call that a fine -12?

    the old advise
"Buy the coin, not the packaging"
    proves correct again.
we all know that when we look at TPG graded coins, we look at the respective TPG's opinions only!
and if and when a TPG guaranties their grade, then it is based on that respective TPG's grading standards and grading policies. Nothing else.
As we have seen in these posts, the same goes for what each one of us thinks the grade of a coin is.

I got the 1913 BL today and I like the coin for what it is and for what I paid for it. I will see what PCGS grades it when I send in my next batch of Canadian pre 1965.
