Went to dinner and 60 minutes later this happened. Pics from our balcony. We had to Kung Fu fight through the crowd to get back to our hotel. Leaving for Santorini tomorrow.
Oh, ya I got married on Friday ; ) Here is my face when I found out I didn't win the lots I wanted in the Legend Auction. Tracy's face is when she found out I didn't win anything in the Legend auction.

I did bring lots of cash but so far credit cards work and I've seen short queues for ATMs but people we able to get cash. I'm Santorini now and it couldn't be more amazing

Just got back to the U.S.
1) almost all the Greek citizens I spoke to were voting no on the referendum. It's was basically the only logical vote
2) almost all the Greek citizens I spoke to felt that the biggest mistake was accepting the the bailout in 2010 to begin with. They should have just defaulted then. There was no way to ever repay creditors under those terms. No way to dig out.
3) kicking the can down the road works best with a larger economy. The U.S. For example. A smaller one not so much
4) I've visited over 100 countries over the years. I will count the Greek people as the friendliest and the most humble. This current situition embarrasses them very much. This after all was the birth place of democracy
5) I found it ironic that I viewed the very spot in Athens where the very first democratic vote occurred about 2000 years ago only to watch them vote again this time on the world stage a week later
6) government and banks generally suck everywhere.
7) edited to add--- the shipping industry ( the Greeks largest industry) pays zero in taxes. Zero.

Foreign companies are also exempt from most if not all taxes if flown under the Greek flag. First six years are automatically exempt and then they are enough conditions to continue that status that you could drive a ship through it.

On the other hand tax incentives create jobs in an industry that can relocate for better incentives. Jobs create income tax and reduce govt. dependency. The net result determines whether a smart move or not.
