My buddy that was born and raised here missed even watching last year, so this year he is actually flying up Saturday afternoon, and leaving Monday evening- crashes with me and my family

Gonna make some crock pot meatballs, he wants lil' smokies in a blanket, and lots of beer. I will go fill up all my growlers at a local brewer.

TV? Uh, a 6 year old 50" Panasonic that does the job.

I hope the next day at work is a happy, hangover-free day!

As per tradition (we've gotten to do this twice since we got married in 2005, first time in 2007 season and again in 2011; sadly for her they didn't finish the job either time) me and my Bostonian wife have ourselves a bit of a Super Bowl party! Our 42" Sharp Aquos is what we shall watch it on (okay not that exciting of a TV but it'll do the job). Now don't you guys get all excited wanting to come over to our house or anything...it's only for us three (me, wife, kitty). image Anyway, she will probably make herself some nachos and maybe have "Chinese" takeout, whereas I might get some fried chicken and make some Digorno pizza. Though she is very much Red Sox first, it's still fun for us to actually be able to care about the Super Bowl...hee hee

And then in less than two months it'll be my turn for post season excitement...MARCH MADNESS! image Kentucky just barely missed a championship last year and with all but four guys coming back this year (and two of those were graduating seniors), we just gotta get #9 this time, we just gotta! image

Plans are still in the making, but Im sure it will end up same as usual.

Food will be deer sasuage, cheeseball, and beer.
TV is an old Vizio 40 something inch screenimage

Me and the buddies will be half-crocked before kickoff. Spend 3/4 of the game complaining about the flags being
thrown against anybody that dares touch the quarterback. That, in turn, will bring up the memories of 70's-80's
football when after the game, all the defenders shirts were stained red and the paramedics would gurney the
qb's to mid-field so they can thank the defense for sparing their lives.

During all this, me and the buddies will tell the stories of our high school days on the gridiron. I will convince my boys
that I once broke the other teams will to play on with a grunt and planting down in the 4 pt. stance. Even the fans
forfeited!! Also, tell them the story of how my defense was the only defense in history that held a team to negative
points by knocking them back in time! (I admit, I gotta headache outta that deal... also had to have a new helmet, it
    shattered into many thousand pieces)

Just your ordinary super bowl party hereimage
I dont wanna grow up, Im a Toys-R-Us kid!

Typical casino party, if it is the same as last year. Nice food & booze, some contests, and a few blackjack tables.

Casino bound (not Vegas) Friday and Saturday...driving home (3 hours) Sunday PM. Invited to a neighbor's SB party (have no idea why they'd invite me image...my wife yes, but anyway.

Typical foodie stuff with everybody bringing something. Two 60 inch tvs...nice surround system...the woofer should be woofing !! I'm sure it'll be a lot of chit chat and listening to all the deflation stuff. I'll have my Red Sox cap on, so I'll be a target I guess. Maybe I'll hit amazon and get a Pats cap to wear...easier to find me. image

Enjoy da game guys, should be a good one. As for the footballs, they are all probably hermetically sealed at this point and under armed guard at Fort Knox.

Out on a limb Pats 36-28. Brady, Blount and the "...kowskis" will prevail.

I'm still up in the air about it, I watched the Ravens and Indy games with my girlfriend and the fact that I'm insanely superstitious when it comes to big games I might sack out on my couch with her and have some Ribs or Seafood and then break furniture if the Pats lose, there is no question I will be mad when my Squares don't hit too so it has the potential to be a very miserable time. image

I get together with various friends-this year it's my turn to be the host site. Assuming my GF's flight gets back in town on schedule there should be 7 people total.

Large crock pot with special chili cheese nacho dip. Quick recipe- velveeta base, use the regular version (not the spicy variety; it ruins the taste), milk (used to adjust texture), cooked ground beef (I like ground sirloin but any hamburger will work so long as it is well drained), Hormel chili (the no bean variety), minced jalapeno to taste. Ladled over tortilla chips or dipped out of a bowl with those 'scoop' kind of chips. It's almost a meal by itself. Simple to make (and well worth having to endure the angioplasty later image )

Pizza- either Davis Bros. Monical's or Agatucci's...yet to be decided.

Wings (I think this year we're going half 911, half BBQ)

Veg tray with ranch dip (let's be honest, it's mostly there for decoration and to assuage guilt over the other artery-closing grub)

Various adult and soft beverages, all iced down in a cooler, tailgate style

51" Sony big screen w/Pioneer surround sound. Old reliable, in its 12th and possibly last season; I've been eyeballing 4K stuff (but don't much care for the prices!)

    RIP Mom- 1932-2012

Hey, the ranch dip assures the tray a place in quadruple bypass lore.

In Phoenix now covering the Seahawks who just had their player availability an hour ago. Our station drove a RV down from Seattle starting last Thursday and did news stories along the way, including in SF. Five guys driving 1400 miles to Vegas and then drove rental cars here yesterday. Crazy hours, crazy schedule but crazy fun. Media day tommorrow. Should be weird.

Will likely watch the game at home with family, in bits and pieces, unless it is a blow out. If it is a blowout why bother.

Will not watch the pregame, or more than 5 minutes of the postgame. Why bother.

As for the half time show I will tune in and if it is really good I will watch it.

Of course if it is a gorgeous day outside, I will spend time outside instead of on the couch.

Set the DVR. Start watching about an hour after kickoff. Skip all the halftime and most of the commercials. Wait for pitchers and catchers to report.

Sitting in my recliner for the start of the game and will not move until halftime and return as soon as the game comes back on. When it is over will start getting ready for my big event, the Red Sox truck leaving for Florida. Some of the players will already be there waiting to get started at that point. It will be time to get my baseball package and any other sporting channel that will get me every game. I really like the Patriots but super bowl is my favorite football game because baseball will be here 3 weeks after it.

I guarantee I will have the worst Super Bowl Sunday of anyone here. I am having a colonoscopy on Monday, so the prep is Sunday.

I'm sure no further detail is required.
