A riff on the Ali by Joe Frazier:

Float like a butterfly sting like a bee? I'm the one who did the job, ask him, you'll see.

And one of my all-time favorites by Mike Tyson:

My style is impetuous, my defense is impregnable, and I’m just ferocious. I want his heart! I want to eat his children! Praise be to Allah!” --Mike Tyson

And one my other all time favorites by Gary Templeton, upon learning he was going to be selected as a reserve to the All Star game:

    "If I ain't starting, I ain't departing."

"I tell him 'Attaway to hit, George.'"

    - Jim Frey, K.C. Royals manager when asked what advice he gives George
    Brett on hitting.

"I don't know. I only played there for nine years."

    - Walt Garrison, Dallas Cowboys fullback when asked if Tom Landry ever smiles

"Blind people come to the ballpark just to listen to him pitch."

    - Reggie Jackson commenting on Tom Seaver

They give you a round bat, throw you a round ball and tell you to hit it square.*

  • Speaking of Mike Tyson:

"I was gonna rip his heart out. I'm the best ever. I'm the most brutal and vicious, the most ruthless champion there has ever been. No one can stop me. Lennox is a conqueror? No! He's no Alexander! I'm Alexander! I'm the best ever. I'm Sonny Liston. I'm Jack Dempsey. There's never been anyone like me. I'm from their cloth. There is no one who can match me. My style is impetuous, my defense is impregnable, and I'm just ferocious. I want his heart! I want to eat his children! Praise be to Allah!"

I would disagree with a great sports saying if it included the words "I want to eat his children". Sickest most disgusting, maybe but by no means great.

My vote is for "Let's play two".

Here's another one from Dock Ellis, after getting mixed up on LSD and mistaking the day he was scheduled to pitch as an off day:

    "I just made a touchdown!"

Matt Hasslebeck at the overtime coin flip against the Packers in the playoffs. He won the coin toss and said.

    Your Hass link is bad

I remember watching that game. I never had faith in that team- or really any Holmgren lead squad. However, that INT was a result of a bad route- and a QB throwing before he looks

I was watching that and after he said it, I said to myself that was a mistake and sure enough lol. Pure awesomeness that it was a pick 6 as well.

From basketball, ................... I have always liked Moses Malone providing the following regarding the Philly 76rs beginning the NBA playoff road that would see the title land in the City Of Brotherly Love ...... "Fo, fo, fo".

He was close to being a prophet. The 76rs lost only one game in the playoffs that year and came close to sweeping their way to a title.

Another favorite stems from Rocky III. Before his rematch with Rocky, Clubber Lang is asked by a reporter for his "prediction" for the fight. Clubber thinks about the question for a moment, turns to the camera and says "Prediction?,........... Pain!"
