    Many sports folks don't know him. A friend who is a diehard Yanks fan and old enough to live through the 60's only knew the name.

    He should have at least recalled the Eephus that McClain served up to Mantle in Mick's final season.

    But seriously Denny McClain in 1968 was the last 30 game winner. Considering a five man rotation over a 162 game season gets and average of 32 or so starts, that means to get a 30 win season you can have no more than two losses or no decisions...very tiny margin of error indeed. And would you believe it's now been 24 years since we even had a 25 game winner (Bob Welch, 1990)?

    He's signing at a show I'm doing in two weeks. I met him at a show I did in December as well. Nicest guy ever. Talked with me for about 10 mins, took some photo's including some crazy ones and then sign my baseball. Really nice guy.
