What do you do when PSA mislabels a card?

I have about 3-5 cards in my collection that are not labeled correctly by PSA. An example is one of my cards is just listed as "1992 Hoops". In reality the card is a 1992 Hoops Series II Promo. It's unnumbered and not a regular issue card. Another example is I have a 1992 Topps Gold Larry Bird that is simple labeled "1992 Topps" with no mention of Gold. Does PSA charge to correct these if you send them in? Do you guys have cards in your collection like this?

I've got a stack of them, I think everyone probably does. It's called a "mechanical error". If you contact customer service they will fix it, but you have to send them in on your dime (some have been successful in recouping this in grading credits) and then wait for them to send it back.

Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's

I keep them and wait to send them in with my next submission. Then I forget to send them in with that next submission. I have done that 4 times now.

Customer service has stated that I will get a free grading for each card that is a mechanical error.

i have about 20 of them still. they need to hire more people for quality control on the labels. to many mistakes with labels. seems they are all not on the same page when it comes down to labels. i have over paid for a card because of the mislabel. i had put my trust in what the label read, big mistake on my part for trusting what the label said the card was

As much as I'd like to destroy the offending slab/flip with a sledgehammer and then proceed to curl up in the fetal position and cry like a baby image, I usually just put the card in my "take to the National" pile, and then have it relabeled/holdered at the next National. That normally does the trick image

It sounds like you misunderstood someone in customer service on that one. The standard reimbursement is a $17.00 grading voucher after you receive your complete mech error order back, regardless of quantity of items. The intent is to reimburse you for your cost of shipping the mech error items to them for your no-charge correction order. If you submit a receipt for actual shipping costs that exceeds $17.00, you can get reimbursed for that amount instead if everything passes inspection & approval; however, if you send in multiple orders in a single box that for example includes raw cards for grading as well as mech error cards for correction, you cannot get reimbursed for the actual shipping to PSA if greater than $17.00. Remember, they don't just mail you the voucher automatically; you have to remember to take the time to request the voucher _after_ you get your corrected order back.

Correct you have to be very clear on what the card issue is an remind them on the forms.
