Could be a DDO or could be mechanical doubling.

  • It is a 2015 Homestead quarter. While searching for the DDR's I realized that the 2009 Formative years cents had both , so I started looking at the obverse and found this one.

Can you get the upper left of each letter in liberty?

And maybe a bit clearer plus a tad more light

  • I will try to get better pictures tomorrow morning. I'll try to get pics from top, bottom, left, and the right. I'll try to work on my lighting also. Sorry for the horrible pictures, but they are from my phones camera.

it looks it to me. i did hear that there were a few on the proof side that was ddo. didnt hear much more then that though.
  • I tried to get better pictures today, but I'm limited to what I have. I have sent an email to Mr. Wexler to see if he would like for me to send the coin to him to get a better look at it in person, and possibly take better pictures of it. Still no word back from him, but I'm hopeful. Kris

    .
you can also try james wiles. i think he may attrib these but not 100% sure.

doubling as it appears from the images is highly unlikely on a statehood.

it has the appearance of doubling from previous generations.

either way, i sure look forward to a definitive answer.

if you cant get a hold of wiles or wexler, you can send it to me for confirmation.

I was just in Jacksonville two weeks ago visiting family. Wish I could have seen it! I could not do any better on pictures, but I could at least verify whether or not it was a DDO. image

Possibly. Need better pics; may also be due to die wear?

From those pictures, I cannot confirm doubling.... definitely something there - i.e. machine doubling... Cheers, RickO

...kinda looks like MD or die abrading, need a sharper pic...image

Leaning towards no, but I am intrigued by the top left corner of the T in LIBERTY. If it's clearly notched, as it looks like it may be from the second picture in the OP, I would change my mind.

    DDO, not MD.
I see notching in the T and Y of Liberty.

The B shows the most. I'll go DDO.

Looks like die abrasion to me. The whole die is a very late die state.

Going to need much closer pics. Die wear can do some strange things....

The top of the "E" looks like it may be doubled (split serif). The other letters are not clear enough for my eyes.

This is correct, after sending a few pictures to Mr. Wexler he confirmed it due to die deterioration doubling caused by over used dies.
