Do you think they would allow me to ware a "Go Pro" camera on my head as I went from table to table at the ANA show next week as I make deals at the tables?

They might let you "wear" it, but I doubt it.

I imagine it would be better to "ware" it at an electronics or photography show. image

I would just do and then see if you get any negative feedback, I like the idea.

I thought it would be a fun video to do. But I'm sure they would not allow it , but not sure why. What type of security problem would it pose? I guess if I wanted to case the joint I wouldn't need a go pro camera.

Why would you ever even consider such an idea?

Does the camera have image stabilization? If not, most folks would puke trying to watch it.

OK, I'll make a mental note. Do not make video, will make people puke.

Just about every big show I've been to has large signs right at the entrance that clearly state photography on the bourse is prohibited... even though Todd gets away with it at every show image

Putting a face to gold and silver is like putting a target on a dealer?

If you can't see that then start thinking about all the stories where dealers were followed and robbed.

Apparently you have never watched a GoPro video before.

No they wouldn't and if you did it on your own security guards would quickly escort you out.

  • I think you should do it, and do it with a live channel so we can all watch. It would be a great learning experience.
  • I say no. It's not exactly a public place, since you have to pay to get in.
Let's try not to get upset.

I'm confused why so many people would think this would be so interesting?
  • SPalladinoSPalladino Posts: 831 ✭✭✭✭✭
I doubt it would fly. Besides, read this caption: "guy walking around coin show with Go Pro on" Do you want to be that guy?

  • Even though you are in a public space people will be under the belief that their privacy is protected, this is not the actual case. Being that they are thinking this way most if not all would believe you are doing something illegal.

The people running the show could remove you as they have right of entry. Now you could look into the laws and regulations regarding imaging people in public spaces as most times only one person needs to be aware (you) that the imaging is happening. Most likely there will be signs stating that the premises is under video surveillance so you could always wear one of the small cameras in a pair of glasses or a button on your shirt. Now if you did this and reported back I feel you would get all kinds of hell for it.

In my opinion it would be very educational to do this to show the way of the deal and how different dealers approach a deal and the negotiation to get there.

It would probably be easier to walk around with a friend holding a huge camera and say you're doing a documentary.

Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.

There are multiple camera option available that would not be identified as cameras... glasses, pens etc., and they all have gigabit storage. Easy to do with no one knowing it is being done. I have used these on multiple occasions.....Cheers, RickO
