I'm curious.....for those guessing less than 67.....what marks are you seeing on this coin?......I see some minimal chatter on the reverse, but nothing particularly bad....and at least from these pics, the obverse looks quite cleeeean......

It just doesn't have the blazing brilliance PCGS like for 66 and above. JMHO.

Looks like a 66, but I think the slide across the jaw held it back a point and it got a 65.

I think the OP wants a 67 but I am in the 66 crowd. But the blown up pictures may look much differently coin in hand...

I'll take the "under" at 65. It's a nice, clean coin, but surfaces & luster are just average for an 1881-S. Seems like a 66 should be an above average gem.

I'm going to say 64/5ish... Marks on ear a few on the cheek luster looks great on rev. But also a few marks in the left field... Very nice coin by the way.

I always claim my "grading vocabulary" ends at about MS-65....So it gets a 65 from me.

Honestly, to me it seems that the weak strike over the ear, and reverse field chatter may make anything higher unlikely?

There's some scruffiness near the jaw, but I can't tell how severe it is. I'll go with 65, but if the jaw is a bit too scruffy, I could see 64.

AU58. There appears to be some rub on the high points of Liberty's cap, and friction marks on her jaw. So close to 66, though!

66/66+ (depends on the extent of the luster). Based on the images, I don't think that it has enough luster for 67. This is a generic coin, and the graders aren't likely to be merciful.
