Well, guess what made the release schedule?

The mintage limit for the 2012 and 2013 sets was 50,000. I'm guessing it will be the same for the 2014 set.

What is different between a limited edition silver PROOF set and the regular silver PROOF set?

It's minus the two non-silver coins, cent and nickel. Plus an ASE.

Maybe this year the set will be in a green holder, since they're releasing it on St. Patrick's Day. image

So the silver proof set is still on sale for $53.95

The Proof ASE is still on sale for 48.95

    Total for both $102.90

Price of the LE set is $139.95

SO for $37 more you get it all in one package minus the 5 proof dollars, nickel and cent

Remind me why this is attractive????

Ive seen a few PCGS graded and labeled LE set and they bring a pretty good premium over the standard silver counterpart. Especially the American eagle.

    Packaging?

    It's absolutely pricey

It's going to be odd having a 2015 release for already released 2014 coins for such a hefty mark up.

Anyone know if there will be household limits on these? If so is it like five?

I don't know. I think you could end up with more coins for less money if you buy a silver Proof set and a Proof silver eagle.

At a rate, here is my reaction to this offering. image

US Mint marketing department meeting notes

Joe: Let's take half the coins from a silver proof set and a SAE and throw them in a bigger box and sell them for twice the money.
Herb: Great idea. Let's knock off early today.

Ownership admits you into the Elitists Collectors Club.

Collector A : So do you have the 2014 LESP Set in your Collection?

Collector B : No , I didn't feel I could add that to my Collection.

Collector A ( eyeing B's slightly shabby attire ) : No, I don't imagine you would be able to.

I received my 2014 set today. Just like the 2012 & 2013 set, the coins are nicer than in the regular proof sets I bought. Maybe they are assuring better coins for the higher cost. Maybe what should be done for all coins fresh from the mint???

I received my five set order Monday and my single orders today. Will probably just hold some sealed for now. I have heard from several different people that opened them that these sets are coming out in a lot better condition as to there single counter parts.

    How'd they do?

Did the Mint really announce these AFTER the first of the year?
