How About a Thread of Coins from the Gardner Auctions
breakdown

Here are my two that broke my coin budget for the year -- I purchased them out of the first sale (with help from a trusted pair of eyes) and then had to agonize and sit on the sidelines in the second sale.
I certainly enjoyed looking through Mr. Gardner's coins -- it was very difficult to decide which coins to go after and which ones to pass on. If others have images of their purchases, please post.

The other win was from the second sale in November. This 1821 JR-9. The coin is currently residing in a PCGS-64 holder. This coin was auctioned off in 1990 in the Lovejoy auction and it was lot 59. In that auction, the condition was a very choice proof or presentation piece. The coin matches the Lovejoy plate exactly. The obverse is proof or very proof like and the reverse is more like a mint state. Many believe that back in 1821 the mint made one sided proofs as a presentation piece. I am very thrilled with these acquisitions! I can't believe that CAC didn't sticker the 1821!
I bid on that 51 O too.
I give away money. I collect money.
I don’t love money . I do love the Lord God.
Thanks for sharing your halves at ANA BD. One of the highlights of the show.
EC, I was hoping to get that 09 reasonable. Twice now .......

I paid $22,912.50 including the juice. It sold for $14,950.00 inlcuding the juice back in October 2001 which was a bargain back then! I think I got this coin for a very reasonable price.
It is an awesome match to my 1859 dime, also PCGS/CAC MS-68 OGH!!!

Splendid! I'd really like to see the more realistic slab photos. I'll bet they're crazy nice!
Lance.
Oreville's coin deserves a photo from Todd or Lance. EC's as well.
