Has anyone ever seen a 1885-CC in a Redfield MS65 holder? Any information on pop or prices appreciated.
Steve

I would not be surprised if Grant Campbell (Dalton Gold & Silver Exchange) has seen or owned one. Ask him.

Have seen CC's but do not recall an 1885.

    Try Northern Nevada Coin.

They are almost always just a Paramount holder. Does it say "Redfield" on the holder?

That's the one-not sure how I missed that one while searching Heritage. Thanks......2006 man, that is few and far between.

Another tough date in the Red Redfield holder id the 1878-S. I have seen one -- it also was in a Heritage auction. I have talked to Grant Campbell and even he had not seen one.
The 1878-S is fairly easy to find in the Black Redfield holders, but they are tremendously baggy -- looks like a truck ran over them.

I often wonder how accurate this guys research is, since he didn't even have the slab description correct. There was not an MS70, it says MS65 PLUS.

If you go to Coinfacts you will see that they also mention 1,000 coins in the Redfield Hoard from 85cc. I think the info is pretty accurate.
Just go to 1885cc in the Coinfacts page and scroll to the bottom.

Bob, interesting story, thanks for posting. Choked on my coffee when I read $18 per coin was the winning bid!
