Anyone else see these absurd offers from World Reserve Monetary exchange (WRME)? They are selling a roll of dollars (54 coins) for $88 plus $11 shipping. Their scam is marketing these as "gold" coins in a "mammoth plastic roll" with a "never circulated" sticker.
The roll is placed in a gold box stamped like a bar - 425 grams, US Legal Tender, Ballistic Roll, never circulated. The clear plastic roll allows one to see the impressive edge markings. They are stored in heavy vault "bricks" and transported by dollies with "guards" in official-style uniforms. If you act now during this special early release you get free coin(s). (I gather you get one free Presidential per roll). For a net $99 you get $55 worth of coins that are sitting at your local bank. My wife brought some home last week for $1 each but they were not Ballistic Rolls (TM).

-These are never before seen Ballistic rolls
-The phones are ringing off the hook
-You only have 72 hours to act
-You can't get these Ballistic rolls anywhere else - not the mint, FED,
or any bank. This quote from the national ad:

"We can't stop people from breaking open the sealed tubes and handling the presidential coins individually. But anyone who does would be a FOOL. So, to keep that from happening we are giving away a free Pres. dollar coin with each Ballistic roll. That way everyone can still examine and show off the individual free coin without breaking the seal on the valuable Ballistic Rolls."

"We have to put limits on dealers. But everyone else who calls should be able to get what they need."

Ok so don't all order at once and jam the phones even more.
And please don't say you're a dealer or you're screwed.

Just their latest scam. They've done the same thing with uncut sheets of currency that they get from the BEP and market as something unique. The photo of the roll is blown up by a factor of 2 to make the roll look like a night stick. A guard is using 2 hands to stack the BR's into a pile. At about a pound per roll you would wonder why he is bending at the waist as well. Did anyone make the "public unveiling" in NY City. Odd since they ship these out of Ohio?

Are these rolls ballistic because once you find out you paid double face value for junk you'll literally go BALLISTIC? Or is it because when loaded into small cannons these act as useful projectiles?
Hey, at $99 per shot, these 54 coins can do a heap of damage.

No shipments allowed to MA, CT, MN, TN, VT. I can only think that these guys in Ohio want nothing to do with the active Attorneys General in those other states. I know that the CT AG is a stickler for scams.

There is no mailing address - clue to scam?

But............800-924-7945.

Feel free to call and jam the lines a tad more.

But, I have no idea if that "800" number is a true toll free call or just another $$ portion of the scam. And we may be past the 72hr bonus period, so don't be mad if you miss out on the "free" dollar.

Did you notice the Ballistic' roll is pictured being held in a child or infants hand to give illusion of a larger roll!!!!!!

425 stamped in large letters to give subliminal impression there are 425 coins.

What a terrible scam...............

Scam yes! But at only 2X face value it might be better than Coin Vault. They will also try to hook you into buying a subscription to the whole set which will run you $900 or so. It might be worth the call to see how far you can go w/o giving a credit card number, or at least a phony one. One scam begats another.

I'm really getting tired of the Presidential Dollars and all of the gimmicks associated with them.

Basestealer, that's a funny ebay link. That winning bidder paid more than the World Reserve Monetary Exchange is charging. And this copy cat seller stole all their best lines. They only give 50 coins while the ballistic rolls count 54 from the ad. Only on ebay.

I called them and chatted with the "specialist". They need an authorization code from the magazine, but since I did not have it, the fumbled for 10 minutes to create one. A complete scam as they say they are graded MS-65 from a person at the mint who grades all the coins.

Authorization code:

SR603.

I can see why they do this. Rather than specialists who call from word of mouth. They want the real clams who actually read the advertisement. And SR603 is also stamped on the tip of your intercontinental ballistic roll (lol)

Next thing they'll ask you for are the launch codes.

Yeah, they must know better than to mess with Blumenthal.

I saw that outrageous ad in the NY Post the other day -- I would think they would avoid NY as well, given they tend to have aggressive AGs, and one of them is now governor.

So where do they come from? "Why we make them up ourselves after we scan all the coins for plain edges, doubled letters, clips, high grade coins, or anything else that might make them worth more than a dollar apiece."

I saw that ad over a week ago in a New York newspaper and did not order because I thought I passed the 72 hour deadline already.

My son was interested in getting some collectible form of presidential coins (I steered him away from this scam ad).

Does anyone know a reputable dealer/website where I can get either collectible roll, sets, or packaging for Presidential dollar coins?
