Wrestling Card King's next set: 1982 Japanese BBM Magazine four Hulk Hogan's here

I picked this up and thought it was neat. It would take some work to get it graded and then I would have no idea on how to handcut this item. Anyone experience with an item with this shape (not square)?

Nice find. I think a symmetrical narrow white boarder with 90 degree corners around the color border would look the best IMO. They would definitely look sharp slabbed

I like this one a lot better than the Gong magazine card of Hogan. I think you are on the right track of how to cut this item. Thanks for your input.

Very cool. Is the stock any thicker than the rest of the pages in the magazine ?

Do you see Backlund at all? I have a Japanese card from 1978 that is pretty cool and then I need to upgrade my signed 1982 wrestling all star. I would love to have it in a PSA 7 or above with his autograph. I may send in all the cards if PSA grades them. I do not see any reason why they would not. In Japan these were called Wrestler Idol card and it says to cut them out.

Nice pick-up! Through a little research we've narrowed this down to the Baseball Magazine (BBM) Puroresu publication. One of their earliest cards they've printed. Thanks for sharing.

The coolest part about this find is that they are BBM. That is a major manufacturer in Japan and I think still produce sets today.

I would try bgs and try psa in a few months. The square corners definitely have the best eye appeal IMO and keep the integrity of the boarder.

This set just went live today.....they will be working out an issue with the checklist but I am happy to have this started. I am missing one raw card of Hogan to complete the set but it looks like I will be acquiring that one in the next week. I should have all 40 graded by the end of the year.

A pair of "Finger-Nail Clippers" might help with the "Round Corners".
Look for different size "Curves" and make sure they are sharp so they give a clean cut.

Pretty happy to see these pop. I just need to get one Hulk Hogan done and I will have a complete 40 card set. While some collectors may think some of the grades are low, these are rarely seen cards and I have subbed all the cards to date from this series. I like the look of them and will look to upgrade some of the key wrestlers but these are tough as they are not thick stock but thick enough for any bending to create some damage. I did get a gem mint grade on a card that I rounded the corners on which is beyond fabulous. It is a card of Dusty Rhodes and Dick Murdoch.

Four different Hulk Hogan's are really nice as well as a rookie of the Dynamite Kid. I always love cards of Andre the Giant and Bruiser Brody is a wrestler that didn't have a lot of cards made. The shot of Brody used on the card is pretty cool. Superfly Snuka has a classic image and it is neat that a few tag teams had cards like the Texas Outlaws (Dusty Rhodes & Dick Murdoch).

These are nice too because they have printed backs when many Japanese puroresu cards from this era are blanked backed.

I am pleased to get wrestling all star prices on the mid-grade BBM Hulk Hogan cards. I am very pleasantly surprised on the Stan Hansen and I just know that Bruiser Brody would do very well if I put him up. The other card I knew that would be a winner is the Dynamite Kid as there are no other collectibles so early in his career that I have ever seen. I know that wrestling gets a bit of grief by a few people on the boards but the prices achieved for wrestling cards from the 1980s seems to be way better overall than sports cards. I have been a bit disappointed when I have had a key rookie card from my childhood only to find out that it is not worth all that much anymore. Granted they are not PSA 10s, but still. Thanks for your insight and tracking of my auctions.

I think it is fantastic that you have worked hard to uncover new cards and broaden the collecting base of the wrestling genre.

There are so many cool cards from various sets to collect and there is something for everyone.

It was awesome reading the two Bruiser Brody books and seeing so many names that have cards and thinking wow that really happened and their image is up on my wall.

I get the feeling some of the other examples you listed today will catch a few bids too. Good luck with your listings.

I finally was able to scan all the cards and add the last Hulk Hogan December card to my set so I am official in having all forty cards graded from this 1982 BBM set. I made it in time for the Set Registry later this month. I plan to ship off a few cards today or tomorrow in hopes of having them done by the end of the month for a few of my other sets.
