    Yeah, I was just looking at his recent purchases...holy crap...and man, he OVERSPENDS big time! I see one card he paid 200 for...I would happily have gotten it for 100 for him LOL

    He bought a 1955 Bowman Jocko Conlan signed rookie card from me recently. It looks like he is trying to put that whole set together autographed.

    Well, included among the $50,000.00+ that he spent on eBay over the past 4 months were:

    Several PSA/DNA autographed MANTLES, including a '53 Bowman in a Blue Flip with an auto grade of "10".

    Many other Yankees autos in PSA/DNA slabs.

    A '79 topps card with Maris and Aaron, both autographed.

    TONS of '67 autographed cards.

    TONS of '89 Donruss autographed cards.

    LARRY GOETZ Autographed 1955 BOWMAN HI # (UMPIRE) He died in 1962.

    Dick Wantz single autograph on index card PSA/DNA. Google him if you don't know about him. SAD STORY.

    Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.

    I wonder if he still has all his 2006 topps Alex Gordon cards. He was really spending a bunch of money on those. Why would anyone want those cards anyway?image

    He really is one of the hobby's top heavyweights and if it is on his list he will get it at whatever price it takes. If his collection ever hits the market, it wouldn't surprise me if he wills his collection to a museum or starts one later on, it would be unbelievable. Stack three REA catalogs on top of each other and imagine how great that auction would be.

    He is far too wise to get crushed. I think he did it for the hobby, period. Small amount of money for him to do something for the greater good of the hobby at the time.

    Just a thought, but unless he has told people he doesn't mind people posting his user name on message boards and saying he overpays for stuff, it might be best to respect his privacy. He may not care, but it just seems that unless he has told someone he doesn't, it might be better to respect his privacy.

    This is the kind of thing that opens the guy up to shill bidding or someone just running bids up on him for the heck of it. Regardless of how much money someone makes, nobody likes that happening to them.

    I get your point, but his ebay ID has been common knowledge for years, so it's unlikely that he cares. Even a CNBC guy tweeted it.
