It is a tragic day in the history of New York and our great country. I am frankly almost numb.

I have a really high end 2001(p) New York State Quarter grading PCGS-MS67. The coin goes to the high bidder at midnight tonight Eastern Time. The winning bid money (whatever amount it is) will be mailed directly to the New York City Fire Fighters who are risking their lives to save the victims trapped in the debris. I will seek to obtain today an address for the donation-if anyone can help with getting that address, I would appreciate it. Bidding starts at $1.00 now.

Carl and Dcam: Thanks.

I justed received this email a couple minutes ago from one of the nicest, sincere and honorable gentleman to ever collect PCGS Lincolns or any coins for that matter (who I happened to mail a package off to yesterday).

"Mitch:

My son works on the 104th floor of WTC and has not been heard from since the
attacks this morning. Please understand that I was not able to go to the
post office today to check for your delivery. I'd appreciate your prayers.

Gerry"

Gerry: You have my prayers and the prayers of all here on the boards!

I'll bet, if asked, Mitch would scribe a lovely letter mentioning this forum to go along with the donation. Assuming that a copy of this letter would go with the 911 coin, I bid $200.

Reading all the nice posts, and thinking of all the nice people on this forum, takes ones thoughts off today's tragedy for a moment. Thank you.

If I win the coin this time, I will keep it. I would be proud to think of all of you when I look at it. Another deadline, Mitch?
